Beijing

My program tour on 1st day
After I arrived to Beijing we had breakfast at the chinese restaurant. The food is okay. That was the first meal in China. And then we went to The Palace Musuem. This is the information about it.
The Palace Museum, former home to the 24 Ming and Qing emperors, is also known as the Forbidden City. Completed in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty, it occupies a total space of more than 720, 000 square meters. Apart from the complex of immovable palace buildings, the Palace Museum houses over 1.5 million items or sets of relics. Over 8,000 of them are designated as first-class relics. They fall into the following categories: paintings, calligraphy, rubbings from tablets, inscriptions, sculptures, copperwares, porcelain, textile or embroidery, jade or stone wares, gold or silver wares, jewelry, lacquerworks, enamel wares, carvings, miscellaneous handiworks, stationery, daily appliances, clocks and instruments, imperial seals and certificates of the conferring of titles, religious relics, weapons carried by guards of honor, ancient books, and foreign relics.
Ancient architectural relics and other cultural relics fall into 25 categories, which are further divided into 69 sub-categories. Those used for government affairs and daily life are displayed in their original places; such works of art as porcelain, paintings and calligraphy, jewelry, clocks, stone drums, and bronze wares are kept in special halls. There are also halls for short-term exhibitions. The museum is open to the public all year round.

Next, we walked to The Tiananmen Square. It is very large square and beautiful. Here it still located Olmpic Mascot too. There are 5 mascots but I can't remember their name. I just know Jing-Jing and Nie-Nie. And this is the information about The Tiananmen Square.

The Tiananmen Square lies at the cross-section between the central axis of Beijing. When it was first built in the 15th year of Yongle (1417), it was called Chengtian Gate. It was twice destroyed in the Ming Dynasty, once by lightening, once by war. In 1651, or the 8th year of Emperor Shunzhi's reign in the Qing Dynasty, the Emperor named Fulin had it rebuilt on a large scale and changed its name to Tiananmen. Imposing and magnificent, it stands out among ancient city gates in China.
Tiananmen was the place for important ceremonies during the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, when imperial edicts were issued for coronation of emperors or the conferring of the title of empress. Tiananmen has witnessed many important events in China's modern history.
Tiananmen Square was formerly a courtyard in front of the main gate to the Forbidden City. At that time it measured about 110,000 square meters. Since the fall of the feudal system, and especially since the foundation of the People's Republic, it has been renovated and expanded many times. Now the square, at 880 meters long and 500 meters wide, measuring 440,000 square meters. To its east is the National Museum; to its west, the Great Hall of the People. In the middle of it stands the Monument to People's Heroes, to the south of which is Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall. The national flag ceremony held in the square every day stirs strong patriotic feelings in the bosom of everyone who loves New China. Now, in this new age of reform and opening, the age-old Tiananmen, as a witness of the past and present of China's civilization, with its unrivaled political significance, attracts tourists from all over the world.
I hope that one day you will have a chance to trave in China.

The best remedy

The best remedy

When you have watery eyes and a running nose, you sneeze a lot and you use up boxes of tissues, what’s the matter with you? Of course, you have a common cold. It makes you feel really uncomfortable. What is the best remedy?

Some people go straight to the drugstore, and they buy lots of medicine. For example, they buy aspirin, vitamin C, nose drops, and cough syrup. They go home with a bag full lof solutions for their cold. In facts, they already feel much better when they walk out of the drugstore.

Other people prefer traditional home remedies like chicken soup, lemon tea, or a mixture of hot milk and honey. Ginger tea is very popular in Asia.

Naturalists say they never catch colds because they are in constant contact with nature. In winter, when the weather is freezing, some of them go swimming in ice - cold water. When you ask them for advice, they usually suggest a really drastictic remedy. They say, “Jump into a pool of cold water.” They say that the shock clears the head. A friend of mine who is a doctor always says. “A cold last for a week with treatment, or seven day without it.”

What is the best remedy for you?
